SLIGHT DECLINE IN PHARMACEUTICAL SALE

Stable development and continued high discounts – that’s a key message in Amgros’ Market Monitoring Report for Q2 2025.

4. SEPTEMBER 2025

In the first half of 2025, the hospital pharmacies in the Danish regions purchased pharmaceuticals through Amgros for nearly DKK 4.5 billion – representing a decrease of approximately 1% or DKK 49 million compared to the first half of 2024.

These figures are presented in Amgros’ Market Monitoring Report for Q2 2025.

To smooth out potential fluctuations in purchasing patterns and seasonal variations, it often makes more sense to look at a longer period than just year-to-date. Looking at the past 12 months, total sales amounted to approximately DKK 10.121 billion – an increase of 4.6%.

SAVINGS INCREASED

Total savings in the first half of 2025 amounted to DKK 4.939 billion – an increase compared to the same period last year, when savings reached DKK 4.572 billion.

This corresponds to Amgros achieving a total discount of 52% in the first half of 2025 – an increase of just over 2 percentage points compared to the same period in 2024.

Over the past 12 months (July 2024 – June 2025), total savings rose to DKK 10.266 billion, corresponding to just over 50%. A discount rate of around 50% means that the prices paid by hospital pharmacies are approximately 50% below the official list prices (AIP = Pharmacy Purchase Price). The list prices represent what the pharmacies would have paid if no better prices had been achieved through tenders or negotiations.
